Let's get our craft on with Dinosaur tails!

 Dinosaur Tails

These were fun & easy to make.

You can find the tutorial here at Running with Scissors. Make sure to take a look at Jessica's other tutorials. And for more idea's on what to make for the kids you can check out my Pinterest Board Here.

I craft and sew because
1) I enjoy it
2) It keeps me busy and makes me feel better
3) I find it helps me on my down days. Sewing requires focus & attention, so my mind stops concentrating on all the negative stuff and moves to a more positive place.

Do you sew or craft? Or do you have another hobby that helps you feel better?

Thank you for reading,

30 Days of Happiness - Day 2. Flower Love

30 Days of Happiness
Day 2. Flower Love

I've always loved flowers. I love the way they start out as nothing but a tiny seed, and then you watch them change every day. A small green bud coming to life and transforming into something that is beautiful and colourful.

I have been very slack and have stopped growing flowers (mainly because we rent and I have a bad habit of killing plants of ANY type) and have not brought some for the house for a long time. Today's Happiness challenge had me excited to find happiness once again in something I used to love.

So I packed The worm into the pram and off we went on a Flower walk.
Except we live on the beach so apart from a few weeds and sand there really was not many flowers.
So instead we enjoyed a day in the sun, with the cool sand in our toes and yummy sushi to munch on.

But I was determined to continue my Happiness challenge, so off we strolled to the florist to buy Myself some red tulips, which I love.

What has brought you happiness today?
Was it in something as simple as a flower? Were you able to get out and enjoy the sunshine?

I am taking part in the 30 Days of Happiness Challenge created by http://www.sevencherubs.com/

What this blog is all about

My plans for our Blog.......
  • I would like to concentrate on Postnatal Depression, but also include useful tools for any mother.
  • I will share mine and others journeys with Postnatal Depression. The worst parts, the recovery and finally looking back.
  • I will share links, resources, self help options that I have tried (I'm not a professional, all advice will be purely based on mine & others personal experiences).
  • I want to share tips on my experience of being a busy working Mother and ways I try to make life a little less chaotic and crazy. Meal ideas when your busy, housework tips, you get the drift :-)
  • I will share my rants (I will try to keep this at a minimum, I promise)
  • And as I stated in my first post I plan to share with you each week my 'Keep Busy' project!
You see whilst I have tried many self help options in my recovery, I found the best way for me to get through my battle was to keep busy. I don't recommend this to everyone. Some may say I'm avoiding dealing with the depression, but for those who know me and my history they will know that this is just my way of dealing with this in my own way. I take out my feelings in craft, sewing and hanging out with my little man 'The worm'.
I will just mention that I'm currently still having treatment for PND, so don't be concerned that I'm avoiding anything :-)

My aim is to remove the stigmas attached to Postnatal Depression.
We should not have to be silent anymore
